Your hips and legs are the support structure for your body, and they end up going through quite a bit of stress! Add in that most Americans don't usually have perfect posture, and you can see how the support structure your hips provide can start to become painful. Pain in your hips is often confused with back ache, because of how the spine connects to the pelvis.
Dr. Cutitta can assess the reasons you are experiencing hip pain. The most common causes are posture and stress related incorrect spine alignment, or wear and tear as cartilage separates (more commonly known as arthritis). These factors, among a few other causes, can easily be treated by our doctor. By seeing a chiropractor for your hip pain you can treat the causes naturally, rather than just treating the symptoms with pain medications. Chiropractic is also a fantastic alternative to treatment methods which might involve more invasive surgeries.
Once Dr. Cutitta has determined the cause of your hip pain, he will start treatment promptly so you don’t have to spend more time in pain than necessary. Our office uses a combination of treatment methods for hip pain. Our primary treatment method is usually a spinal adjustment, which helps correct the alignment of the spine which relieves pressure on the nerves. We also use physical therapies like ultrasound and EMS, which naturally remove the pain signal your nerves are receiving. Ultrasound and EMS can also relieve muscle spasms, which contribute to continuing pain. Finally, Dr. Cutitta likes to provide all of our patients with exercises they can use to help prevent injuries from happening again, and to prevent future pain.
Hip pain is something which our office sees and treats frequently. In fact, our Office Manager, Sarah, has experienced hip pain as a result of 10 years of retail work prior to coming to our office. Through use of chiropractic adjustments and EMS, Dr. Cutitta has helped her treat her hip pain. He has also helped many patients with their hip pain. If you would like more information about treating hip pain, don’t hesitate to ask our office for details!
